‘Mennonite Heritage Week’ Comes and Goes Without a Single Mennonite Noticing

WATERLOO, ON

The second annual Mennonite Heritage Week came and went this year without a single Mennonite in the entire country noticing.

“Really? Mennonite Heritage Week? Was that this week?” wondered Mr. Zehr of Waterloo. “If I’d have known I’d have definitely consumed a lot more sausage.”

A combination of Covid and indifference led to the very quiet 2020 Mennonite Heritage Week.

“Hey, if they ain’t doing fireworks, I ain’t paying attention,” said Zehr. “It’s business as usual around the Zehr household.”

Mennonites across the country are eagerly anticipating big things for the next year’s Mennonite Heritage Week which is scheduled for, umm, when is it again?
